Terms of Service
Day Tripper, by Battle Creek LLC · Last updated 24 August 2026
These terms cover your use of the Day Tripper app and service, operated by Battle Creek LLC. By using the app you agree to them. They are written to be read, so please do.
The service
Day Tripper helps you build reusable gear kits for activities you do, generate packing lists for trips, and improve those lists over time by recording what you actually packed.
The app is currently free. If we introduce a paid plan, we will say so clearly in advance, and using the app will never start costing money without you choosing it.
Your account
You need an account to use the app, and sign-in is handled by Kinde. You are responsible for keeping access to your sign-in secure. You must be at least 13 years old.
You can delete your account at any time from Account → Delete account. That deletes your data, as described in the Privacy Policy, and cannot be undone.
Your content
Your kits, trips, lists, and the item names you write remain yours. You keep ownership of them.
You grant us only the permission needed to run the service: to store your content, display it back to you, and use your packing records as part of the anonymous, aggregated community statistics described in the Privacy Policy. Those statistics never identify you, and item names you invent are excluded from them.
You agree not to put unlawful content into the app, and not to use it to store material that has nothing to do with packing for trips.
What a packing list is and is not
This matters more here than in most apps. Day Tripper's suggestions are conveniences, not advice. A generated list is assembled from your own history, from what other people packed, and sometimes from a general-purpose suggestion. It does not know your trip, your body, your medical needs, the terrain, or the conditions you will actually meet.
You are responsible for what you take. Do not rely on Day Tripper for anything safety-critical — medication, medical devices, avalanche or dive equipment, marine or aviation safety gear, or anything else where a missing item causes harm. Weather information is supplied by a third party, is a forecast rather than a fact, and should never be your only source before a trip where conditions matter.
Availability
We aim to keep the service running but do not promise it will always be available, uninterrupted, or free of errors. We may change or discontinue features. If we discontinue the service entirely, we will give reasonable notice and a way to export your data first.
Acceptable use
Please do not: attempt to break into or disrupt the service, access other people's data, automate abusive volumes of requests, reverse-engineer the service to build a competing product from it, or use it in violation of the law.
We may suspend or terminate an account that does these things. Where circumstances allow, we will tell you why.
Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We do not warrant that the service will meet your requirements or that its output will be accurate or complete.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Battle Creek LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or twenty-five US dollars.
Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits. Where that is the case, they do not apply to you, and nothing here removes rights you have under mandatory consumer law.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change is material we will update the date above and notify you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the updated terms; if you do not, you can delete your account.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Michigan, except where your local law entitles you to bring them elsewhere.
